Tulp Jeans is a one-man brand dedicated to craftsmanship, quality, and reliability. Every pair of jeans we create is made with the utmost attention to detail, using premium materials sourced from the best suppliers worldwide. Our denim is carefully selected from renowned mills such as Japan Blue (Okayama) and Candiani (Milaan). In addition, the leather used for our signature patches is sourced from an exclusive tannery in Italy, ensuring both durability and elegance.

My name is Jesper Remmerswaal, and I’ve been designing and crafting jeans for over 20 years. From a young age, I was always involved with denim—altering, bleaching, and even wearing it out to achieve the perfect worn-in look. During my studies at the Fashion Tailoring Academy in The Hague, I began creating everything from denim trousers and skirts to jackets and shirts.

Throughout my career, I developed a deep passion for industrial sewing machines. I bought an old Pfaff industrial machine, which led me to collect vintage machines from iconic brands like Union Special (35800, 6900, 39200) and Reece 101. Over the years, I’ve traveled extensively to acquire the best equipment for my studio, building a collection that allows me to execute each piece with precision and care.

However, as I evolved in my craft, I decided to simplify my approach—returning to the fundamentals of denim manufacturing. Today, I rely on a heavy-duty machine for the more intense tasks and a lighter machine for delicate work. Both are single-needle machines, just as they were used in the past. In addition, my workshop is equipped with a Union Special 38200 overlock machine, a Reece 101 buttonhole machine, and my trusted Pfaff.
